Southwestern Christian University

President : Reggies Wenyika

Welcome to Southwestern Christian University (SCU) – a place to soar!

SCU is an exciting place to be. Since its founding in 1946, the University continues to foster a spiritually vibrant, academically rigorous, and mission-fervent community of visionaries seeking to make a difference in this world.

Our vision for a Christian liberal arts education pursued from the perspective of the Biblical Christian worldview is expressed in more than 30 undergraduate degree programs, and attracts students from more than 20 different nations. Our Pentecostal blueprint for Christian living, undergirded by our core values of Scholarship, Spirit and Service, makes SCU a perfect place for preparing the total person to succeed and excel in careers, callings and in life.

Our location in the City of Bethany, which is in the Metropolitan area of Oklahoma City, and our proximity to Will Rogers World Airport (OKC) and state and interstate highways, makes the SCU campus easily accessible.  Additionally, being located on the historic Route 66 is a reminder of the endless possibilities awaiting those who embrace and desire to participate in the American dream.

Our continuous campus improvements and the restructuring of faculty and staff have added to the excitement of student life at SCU. In addition, our athletic teams compete in the prestigious Sooner Athletic Conference in the NAIA and allows for involvement in mission trips both locally, regionally and around the world.

I am thankful for your interest in SCU and invite you to take the opportunity to meet our faculty, staff and students who are always eager to meet you.

Welcome. Go Eagles, Soar High and Beyond!

Holmes Bible College

Dear Prospective Student:

Holmes Bible College began in 1898 as the Altamont Missionary and Bible Institute on Paris Mountain, Greenville, South Carolina. The school was founded by Rev. and Mrs. N.J. Holmes, Presbyterian ministers and community leaders. The college was a product of the post-civil war holiness revival and later the Pentecostal revival.

Holmes is the oldest known Pentecostal college. It has a rich history of producing significant church leaders, both clergy and lay. Missionaries trained at the college have gone around the world. It has been said that the sun never sets on a Holmes graduate.

In the fall of 2017, the college began her 120th term. The college resides on a new campus with a classroom/office building, missionary house, two dormitories, a student cafeteria/fellowship center, and the Holmes Memorial Church. The campus is always bustling with students, staff, visitors, and church members. It is located at the foot of Paris Mountain near Furman University at 4901 Old Buncombe Road.

God is at work at Holmes Bible College. The primary campus is debt free. The school is a somewhat “faith” school with very low tuition and room and board.

The mission of Holmes Bible College is “to equip men and women for Christian life, ministry, and service to help fulfill the Great Commission of Jesus Christ.” No student is turned away who can exemplify a call of God and conversion experience. The college is multicultural, multigenerational, and multiethnic. Some over ten nations are presently represented on campus.

Holmes could be a place for you.
